Breast Friends Donate to Wakaw Lakeview Pioneer Lodge Palliative Care Fund Raising Initiative

"We are so thankful for the amazing support of the people of Wakaw and area, and so pleased to give back to this community toward this very important project for patients and their families", commented Cecile Halyk on behalf of Breast Friends. "We are grateful to Wakaw Pharmacy. Colette, Mike and staff  have played an integral part in allowing us to show-case our books and facilitate sales in this area."

Cecile was in Wakaw recently and presented a cheque to CEO Wayne Rogier for $500 to the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge for their Palliative Care Room.

Wayne thanked Breast Friends for their generous donation which will help renovations to get started this fall.

At the Good Sam Samboree

Breast Friends were excited to be invited to tell our story and sell books at the Good Sam Samboree Ladies Afternoon on June 12.

Good Sams are an organization of RV owners who travel across North America supporting good causes.  Breast Friend Cecile Halyk spoke on behalf of the group. Also present were Breast Friends Linda Helgason, Charlene Rokochy, Anne Reynolds and Nat Dunlop.

We so appreciated the support and enthusiasm of the group.

Breast Friends at Urology Symposium

Charlene, Darlene and Cecile happily represented Breast Friends at a Urology Symposium held at TCU Place in Saskatoon on May 24, 2014, sponsored by St. Paul\'s Hospital Foundation.

Thanks to Karen Conway and her committee for the generous invitation.  Breast Friends were kindly introduced and our men\'s book was highlighted. The two main speakers focused on prostate cancer patient support and outlined recently researched strategies for early detection. A panel discussion included guest speakers Don Listwin, Founder and Chairman of the Canary Foundation at Stanford University and Joyce Davison, Associate Professor at the College of Nursing, U of S, as well as two couples who experienced prostate cancer.

We sold a significant number of books, and experienced this event as inspiring and an opportunity to increase our understanding of the many facets and repercussions of this disease. We really enjoyed connecting with many interested and interesting people.

"I am just dropping you a line to say how much I enjoy your cookbooks. I also had the the chance to be a part of a ladies night out in Gravelbourg this weekend and one of your members gave a HEART FELT presentation... it was so dynamic that I am telling everyone I know that if they need a motivational speaker, you gals are definitely the ones to get. You had us all in tears for so many good reasons, from laughter to sharing special heart felt moments. Keep up the good work." --Monique Mann, Gravelbourg SK
